Guest Rooms:
The Ohio State University is divided into three residential areas: North, South, and West Campus, though West Campus is not used for accommodations. The summer residence halls are air-conditioned by default, though we offer other options at a lower cost if interested. Each room contains a combination twin-xl bed per occupancy, a clothes storage system, a desk, and a microwave/refrigerator. Internet is included for free through our WIFI@osu guest system.
North Campus:
-
Ohio State University's North Campus is known for its modern facilities and proximity to academic buildings, especially for STEM fields. The area includes several residence halls, such as the Blackburn, Scott, and Torres houses, which offer amenities like study rooms, fitness areas, and dining facilities, including the popular Scott Dining Hall. Rooms on North Campus are air-conditioned with either suite-style bedrooms and private baths or traditional rooms with community "pod-style" bathrooms. The layout is walkable, with green spaces, plazas, and access to the North Recreation Center. This area is a lively community, with plenty of social activities, events, and organizations based nearby. The combination of academic proximity and modern amenities makes North Campus a popular choice.
South Campus:
-
Ohio State University's South Campus is a vibrant residential area, popular among first- and second-year students due to its proximity to academic buildings, dining halls, and student life centers. Residence halls like Park-Stradley and Smith-Steeb offer air-conditioned, traditional-style rooms with community "pod-style" bathrooms, creating a social atmosphere. South Campus also offers a limited number of apartments with private baths and kitchenettes, typically reserved for intern housing. Guests have easy access to recreational facilities like the RPAC, dining options such as Kennedy Commons and the Ohio Union, and academic buildings like Hagerty Hall. Additionally, South Campus is close to cultural and social spots like Mirror Lake and The Oval, making it a convenient and lively area for student life.
-
A few apartment-style living options with kitchenettes are available but are limited as they are reserved for mainly individual intern housing. Check out our intern tab if you are interested!

What safety measures are in place for residence halls?
Campus residence halls are locked 24 hours a day. To gain access, students must use their ID card to open an outside door. A guest must be escorted through any residence hall they do not live in by a resident of that hall.
There are several preventative measures that you can take to help ensure that you have a fun and safe time on campus.
-
Lock your door, even if just going down the hall.
-
Escort your guests; that way, only people who belong in the hall (residents and guests) will be there.
-
Do not leave messages on your door about when you will return or where you are.
-
Keep ground-level windows closed.
-
Do not leave tempting valuables visible inside your parked car.
-
Record serial numbers and description of valuable property.
-
Do not put your address on or attach your ID to your key ring.
-
Avoid walking alone at night. Always walk in groups of two or more people.
-
Always lock your car.
-
Use well-lit pathways at night.
-
Use the blue lights around campus when you need help. They provide a direct line to the Ohio State University Police Department.
-
Call 911 if you have a serious emergency.
-
Carry your ID with you at all times. The residence halls are locked 24 hours a day so you'll need it to get in.
-
Hall staff members, RAs, and Hall Directors are always there to assist - contact them if you need help
Abandoned, lost, or stolen property:
Personal belongings left by conference participants that are removed by housing staff are treated as abandoned property and disposed of accordingly. The University shall not be liable for any damage to, or loss of, such property that may occur during such removal, storage, delivery, or disposal.
If you left something behind, please notify eventsandconferences@osu.edu immediately and provide the following information: first and last name, phone/email, building and room number (if known), conference/camp you were with, and item description. If the item is found, you will be contacted to make arrangements for pick up.
