As the Director of Events and Conferences & Sponsorship, Matthew is responsible for providing leadership and direction for all aspects of operations for events and conferences within the Student Life areas on campus, including the Ohio Union, Rec Sports, the North District and many others. The team is responsible for the curating, designing, supervising and overseeing of various events on campus. He and his team work with both internal (students, faculty and staff) and external clients (e.g., summer camps, meetings, etc.) to seamlessly orchestrate memorable and impactful gatherings that inspire, connect and elevate the event experience on campus! In addition, Matthew works to strategically cultivate partnerships with a dedicated approach to fostering meaningful relationships with corporate sponsors and brands to ensure mutual benefit and impactful engagement within the university community through sponsorships and activations.
Matthew created the Office of Events and Conferences at Otterbein University, where he implemented centralized calendaring for the university, new processes, policies and increased revenue by 500%. One of his favorite events included being the event lead for the hosting of the CNN and NY Times Fourth Democratic Presidential Debate in October 2019.
Matthew has additional background in Residence Life, Greek life, fundraising, production management, marketing, communications and graphic design. Matthew holds a Master of Education in College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Technical Design from Otterbein University. He is the President of the Board for Visit Westerville, the President of his Condo Association and the Region 3 Director for the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors - International (ACCED-I).
