Jamia is a passionate event professional with a background in education and event planning. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, specializing in Tourism, Leisure, and Event Planning. Her career began at the Franklin Park Conservatory, where she worked in weddings, and later transitioned into sales and catering for weddings and social events at the Grand Event Center.

For the past four and a half years, Jamia has served as an event manager at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, collaborating with a diverse range of clients, including national organizations, non-profits, and community groups. Working in the private sector has only deepened her love for the event planning profession, as she thrives in creating memorable experiences for clients and guests.

Her passion for events started during her time at BGSU, where she worked in the conference and events office. Now, Jamia takes great joy in nurturing that same love for events in students who are just beginning their own journeys in the field.

In her free time, Jamia enjoys traveling to new destinations, exploring the local food scene, and taking salsa classes on the weekends.
